INGLÊS - ENGLISH
A writer passionate about literature,
with the soul of a child!
Once upon a time, there was a little girl…
With many stories in her head…
And a big dream in her heart!
To write her own books
and publish them around the world!
And what kind of stories were these?
Oh, they were colorful stories…
With a little bit of sweetness…
And a good dose of magic!
Were they stories for children?
Yes. And for adults with the soul of a child!
About Me
Interviewer: Mariela, where does your love for books come from?
Mariela Sorella: For as long as I can remember, books have been my companions. As a child, I traveled without leaving the spot. I read in secret, I read on the couch, I even read under the covers! Reading taught me that inside every page lives an entire world — and that's when my dream of creating my own worlds was born.
Interviewer: What inspires your stories the most?
Mariela Sorella: Life! People, animals, nature, emotions. I love observing the little details — a child's laughter, a bird's flight, the smell of rain. My stories always carry a touch of enchantment and a message that warms the heart.
Interviewer: Do your books carry important messages?
Mariela Sorella: Yes, but in a playful way. I don't want them to feel like a boring "moral lesson," but rather something that makes children think and feel moved.
Interviewer: Has a character ever gotten out of your control?
Mariela Sorella: Hahaha, many times! They do things I didn't even plan. It's as if they have a mind of their own.
Interviewer: Which story do you enjoy rereading the most?
Mariela Sorella: I like them all, but the ones filled with adventure and fantasy make me travel through time and space.
Interviewer: What do you hope children feel when they read your books?
Mariela Sorella: I want them to feel joy, curiosity, and the desire to imagine every scene. I want them to feel that any dream is possible!
Interviewer: Do you write only for children?
Mariela Sorella: Mainly, yes, but I believe children's books also enchant adults. After all, who doesn't like becoming a child again for a few pages?
Interviewer: What message would you give to someone who dreams of becoming a writer?
Mariela Sorella: Believe in your dreams, even when they seem far away. Writing is an act of courage and love. Don't wait for perfection — start! Every word is a seed, and when we plant with our hearts, it blooms at the right time.
Interviewer: Any specific advice for children who want to write?
Mariela Sorella: Write everything you imagine, without fear. Use your creativity and don't let anyone tell you your ideas aren't good enough.
Interviewer: Mariela, do you have a favorite character among those you've created?
Mariela Sorella: It's hard to choose! Every character has something special, but I love the ones who make me laugh while I write. They have a life of their own and always surprise me.
Interviewer: And where do you get the ideas for your stories?
Mariela Sorella: From everything! From things I see on the street, stories I hear, dreams, and especially from children's imagination. They inspire me immensely.
Interviewer: If you could step inside one of your stories, which one would it be and why?
Mariela Sorella: Hahaha, probably one full of adventure! But I warn you: I don't accept scary monsters — only cute and funny ones.
Interviewer: What is the biggest challenge when writing children's books?
Mariela Sorella: Keeping simplicity without losing the magic. I want children to understand everything, but also be enchanted by each word and each illustration.
Interviewer: Mariela, what inspires you to wake up every day and write?
Mariela Sorella: So that children can smile, dream, and feel inspired. And also so that more young readers can discover that reading can be fun, magical, and transformative.
Interviewer: And why would you like to see your books published?
Mariela Sorella: Because I believe good stories need to reach the hands of those who need to dream. Writing is my way of spreading love, imagination, and hope. Publishing my books would be like opening a window for the world to see what I carry inside me — a colorful, sweet, and tender universe.
